Unit price perDurif, also known as Petit Sirah is a red wine grape variety known for making juicy, plummy, tannic wines. The McManis Petite Sirah is bright, yet deep purple colour. The nose is ripe and fruity, with aromas of blackberry, toffee and a touch of clove. On the palate the wine is rich with dark berry flavours. This is a great example of a lesser known grape variety.
Domaine de Beaurenard is family owned and operated (over seven generations) and is one of the leading estates of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The Coulon brothers, Daniel and Frederic, have taken over from Paul and Regine, and craft some of the most fruity, charming and supple wines of the whole Appellation. With the modernization of the cellars in the late 80s, the quality of the wines has gone from excellent to often exceptional - and the vineyards are now organic and biodynamic.
All 13 of the permitted grape varieties are used here including some vines so old they’re not sure of the variety. Terrific stuff.

Organic certification
The organic story at Seresin
One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.

Winery notes:
Our Ghost Town Syrah is one of the few Syrah?s you?ll find from a region so famous for Pinot Noir. Handcrafted in limited quantities from our Bendigo Vineyard in Central Otago, planted in 2001 at a higher altitude. Together with Bendigo vineyard?s unique personality and minimal winemaking intervention, this Syrah displays fine texture and suppleness. We expect this wine to evolve with careful cellaring for a further 10-15 years.
