Red Ale

With predominantly local hops and slightly above-average alcohol content, our Red IPA has the same confidence and individuality that characterise our own former colony. Tantalising passionfruit aromas give way to a delightful and unexpected combination of berries, tart ruby grapefruit and a comforting toasty malt on the palate, rounded off with a satisfying, sustained finish.

6.4% ABV

A trailblazer when first released in 2009, Hopwired was one of the world's first IPAs to be brewed exclusively with New Zealand hops. Today it's as unique as ever, delivering an enticing punchbowl of tropical fruit, citrus and gooseberry flavours balanced by mouth-filling caramel malt sweetness.

7.3% ABV.

Prepare to have your timbers shivered with this perfect mix of Calypso, Amarillo and El Dorado hops balanced by mellow toasted malt and caramel characters. Be a hearty hornswaggler as you walk the plank or swab the deck while swilling down this treasure chest of flavoursome booty.

Red IPA, 5.5% 
A mature beer for a mature pallet... Big toffee malt richness with citrus hop bite to back it up. Mmm tastes like the season we're in.

Corsendonk Rousse is red-amber coloured rystal clear beer with a typical rich nose and quite a full and creamy head.

Caramel, light floral notes, red with a creamy and persistant ocher head, heavy sweetness, medium body, average carbonation, taste of caramelized malt with a well-balanced bitter finish.

Limited Release 18 is a Red IPA brewed with a complex grist of different malts and an array of American hop varieties, showcasing bold citrus and berry fruit characters on top of a luscious red malt cushion.

An ongoing series of occasional one-off releases inspired by the nice ideas captured at Parrotdog Brewery in Lyall Bay.

Taking its name from our fave local jumping off point into the briny blue, Jump Rock Unfiltered IPA starts with one of our signature unfiltered IPA bases before we load it with heaps of Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops. All gooseberry, citrus and fresh pine needle up front, those flavours are mirrored on the palate alongside a hint of toffee and soft malts.

6.4% - 6.4 carat West Coast Red IPA

Cut and polished to perfection. Red Diamond - 6.4 carat West Coast style Red IPA. A blend of four malts and hand selected Chinook, Mosaic and Citra hops create a rich red IPA loaded with juicy high kilned malt rubescence, deftly balanced with clean grapefruit and juniper bitterness and bursting with citrus, blueberry and mango indica notes. Diamonds are a hophead's best friend.

Rich malt flavour and a ruby complexion are smacked full of hops to create a stunning IPA.

Chewbacca | Cherry & Blackberry Sour Red Ale 4.77% Creamy white head with notes of dark fruits and hints of caramel, leading to the star of the show: cherry and blackberry on the palate. A touch of spice and caramel from the darker malts adds sweetness to the complex flavour profile. Definitely one of a kind. A sour to standout.

5.7% - Red Miso & Rice Red IPA

What is the perfect burger beer? Juicy malts to compliment chargrilled character, hop bitterness to cut through fat and maybe a touch of umami to elevate the whole experience? Say hi to Red Dog - Red IPA brewed with four malts, red rice, Kohatu, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops and red miso. Chewy malt and balanced bitterness, juicy tropical fruit aromatics with a delicate umami twist. It?s your burger?s best friend!
