Semillon

Succulent blend of two great white grapes originally from Bordeaux in south west France and now put to deliciously intense use in this sweet, raisony and super concentrated luscious white wine. Botrytis plays a strong role in this delicious wine with its lingering flavours and deep, full body. 

Kelly Washington wines are a collaboration of Simon Kelly and winemaker Tamra Washington, who source grapes from around Marlborough and other wine regions, looking for organic and biodynamically grown grapes. 

The story of Alpha Domus began in 1989 when the Ham Family, Anthonius and Leonarda, along with their sons purchased 20 hectares of bare land in an area of the Western Heretaunga plains, later to become known as the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District.

Pioneers in the area they established one of the first wineries and were instrumental in the formation of The Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District, giving the sub-region an identity as a premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay.

This wine is made using both fully and patially botryised Semillon grapes, harvested from original plantings. Fermentation took three to six weeks and was stopped once the perfect balance of alcohol, acidity and sweetness had been achieved. 

The luscious palate of orange blossom, apricot and honey flavurs are completed by a zesty citrus finish. Ideal as an aperitif, or to complete your evening.

Wow we don't see a lot of Semillon from Argentina but it is actually one of Argentina's oldest planted varieties. This rare barrel-fermented expression is harvested from 80 year-old vines and has fresh, clean citrus aromas with a hint of oak. Flavours of citrus, tropical fruit, coconut and caramel follow through on the palate

Alluviale Sauvignon Semillon 2015 is made from 81% Sauvignon Blanc, 14% Semillon, and 5% Muscat Petit Grains. It is partly barrel-fermented and has strong tropical fruit flavors.

Sauvignon Blanc adds fruit character and refreshing acidity, while Semillon adds body, texture, and complexity. When all elements come into harmony and balance, the result is a wine greater than the sum of its parts. The end result is dry and  full bodied with medium to high acidity
