English Beer

For Vintage Ale 2018 we've stayed close to home; all of our ingredients have been sourced from the UK.  Tropical citrus and apricot flavours take center stage, delivered by Ernest and Olicana hops.  Pale ale malt from the finest Maris Otter barley combines with Crystal malt to give the beer a rich biscuit sweetness.  As with every Vintage Ale, the flavours of this beer will develop for many years to come, like a fine wine or whisky.

8.5% ABV.

A well-balanced, genuine Yorkshire Bitter, with a full measure of maltiness and hoppy aroma ? Boltmaker is first choice for the discerning drinker ? on both sides of the Pennines.

Formerly known as Best Bitter, Boltmaker has won many awards over the years but most recently it was awarded the CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Britain in 2014 and Champion Beer of Britain ? Bitter category in 2016.

4.0% ABV.

Born from the pioneering spirit of Paul Theakston who, in 1992, followed his heart and dared to start a new brewery. Brewed in Masham, North Yorkshire, this beer is the culmination of six generations of family brewing expertise. Crisp, dry and bittersweet.

4.4% ABV.

DATED STOCK: This beer is past date or nearing the best before date. The beer will still taste good but not quite so good as when it was first brewed.

5.2% ABV.

A velvet, creamy stout packing notes of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Brewed with lactose and a robust malt blend, this milk stout offers a satisfying sweetness that cuts against a light bitterness, brought together through an irresistible velvet texture.

4.4% ABV.

A distinctive rich malty taste bursting with toffee character, fruity aroma and deliciously smooth.

5.0% ABV

They say there?s no such thing as a free meal ? but as you wind your way through wooded hills towards the tiny village of Cranborne, you might chance upon a charming rogue who says differently. For years, the Cranborne Poacher has roamed these parts, outwitting both authority and prey in pursuit of pilfered plums and a pheasant for his pot. Crystal and chocolate malts provide a full-bodied taste with sweet, complex flavours of damson and liquorice.

5.7% ABV

Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour. Itis brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for acreamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toastedgrains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate,with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in goodbalance in this weighty brew.' A fruity IPA, bursting with tropical passion fruit & mango flavours, combined with the American Amarillo & Centennial hop notes.

5.0% ABV

A legendary Cornish ale, Hicks is named after the Brewery's founder, Walter Hicks.  Full-bodied, strong and distinctly Cornish, it's gained something of a cult status over the years.  Brimming with flavours, it's a beer worthy of carrying the great man's name

6% ABV.

Kobold is a great all-rounder, as well as a real showcase for English barley and hops. Its recipe keeps things clean and simple ? much like its taste. With simplicity comes versatility, so enjoy it on any occasion were a crisp, cold beer is the order of the day. It?s perfect for reviving a food-weary palate or simply slaking a thirst.

TASTING NOTES

Warming, Malty and Fruity. Pale and amber malts contribute to a mouth filling and satisfying 'Horlicks' and biscuity maltiness. Challenger and First Gold give a base note of herbal hop and Fuggle as a late hop contributes the main fragrant fruity and floral and spicy notes. Fermented slowly to give just enough fruity esters Abbot Ale provides a complex, satisfying and warming experience.
