Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd.  are very proud to be continuing and adding to the great Campbelltown Distilling tradition and the choice of name reflects that.  Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic 'Ceann Loch Cille Chaiarain' which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown now stands. 

Nose: oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat

Palate: initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch,
honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed

Finish: velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram

An exceptional single malt whisky with extra peated flavour that delivers
a truly individual Campbeltown malt whisky. The higher peat content gives a more sweet and smoky character and a beautiful rounded finish.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Peat smoke on a salty sea breeze with background notes of cr?me caramel and vanilla.

Palate: Golden syrup (light treacle), spiced apple and vanilla. Light medicinal peat notes bring balance to the mid-palate

Finish: Long, lingering peat with dried fruit notes adding sweetness

Campbeltown is a small town on the Kintyre peninsular on the west coast of Scotland, affectionately known as the "Wee Toon".

Campbeltown whiskies are intriguing appealing to those consumers looking for something a little off the beaten track. 

Malt Master, John Peterson, hand selects cask from their reserve cellar, each chosen for their rare characteristics and exceptional maturity.  Finished in the finest deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth single malt scotch whisky where the aroma and flavour work in harmony.

Bottle the traditional way, straight from the cask and non-chill filtered, it's subtle wood and vanilla flavour is enhanced by a full bodied fruity aroma and mildly smoky aftertaste. 

Glen Scotia Double Cask is a classic Campbeltown malt with a formidable pedigree of whisky making since 1832.  Our Master Blender hand picks every cask and finishes the precious whisky in first fill Bourbon barrels and then finishes this outstanding single malt whisky in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.  This provides the perfect balance of rich spicy fruits overlaid with the characteristic sea spray and vanilla oak finish of the house of Glen Scotia.

Springbank 10 year is aged in mostly ex-bourbon casks, but a number of sherry barrels are used to give the whisky some character. There are some woody, cedary notes at the start, but ths moves through briny, sea-spray to sweeter red delicious apples and cooking chocolate.We reckon this whisky offers real value - it's non-chill filtered, non-coloured whisky, bottled at 46% - where real whisky starts!

Longrow Peated offers those who enjoy a heavily peated whisky the chance to enjoy a lingering smoky taste that travels through the senses like the smoke billows from a kiln.

Nose:
Very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops and toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time.

Palate:
Incredibly well balanced – rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present and washes over the palate in waves.

Finish:
The gentle smoke lingers and lingers.

Bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV, Sprinbank is one of the younger whiskeys from the Springbank distillery with 12 years of maturation. A dram that shows a mixture of sea air and minerals on the nose. On the palate it is soft and silky, with the sweetness you expect from a single malt whiskey from the Springbank distillery. The Cask Strength bottling shows slightly deeper peat than the distillery’s standard whiskies.

The tasting note of Springbank 12 Years Cask Strength / 2024:

NOSE: The sweetness of a caramel apple opens this cask strength whiskey along with notes of Parma ham, hazelnut and marzipan.

TASTE: Gentle peat smoke and notes of sour cherry and anise unfold on the palate, accompanied by a creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of vanilla cream.

FINISH: The coastal influence is evident in the finish with notes of brine, oil and salted caramel, along with lingering peat smoke.

A 15 year old from the Springbank distillery with plenty of sherry notes and spice, dried fruits and nuts.

Nose: Fragrant with a certain richness. Notes of fruit salad and a hint of caramel, pineapple, guava and passion fruit lurk. There are notes of dried leather and old ropes. A hint of toffee sweetness and some granary toast.

Palate: Quite full and rich. There are notes of creamy fruit salad and more exotic fruit notes. There is palpable mastication from the oaked tannins with a hint of spice.

Finish: Fairly long with a gentle warmth.

A play on Glen Scotia's classic Double Cask, this expression sees the distillery's unpeated spirit matured initially in American oak barrels, before spending a final 6 months in ex-Demerara rum casks. 

Bursting with tropical fruits and boiled sweet characters and complexed by maritime elements. 

One of the few remaining distilleries in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula sandwiched between Arran and Islay. This used to be the distillery capital of Scotland with over 30 of them based here. Now there are just three. This beauty is aged in ex-bourbon and American oak barrels and offers rich vanilla and toffee that combines elegantly with salty sea spray notes, nuts and citrus.

Commercial description

Part of our limited core range, our Kilkerran 8 year old cask strength is released annually, either as a one or two part release. Previous releases have included full maturations in bourbon, port and sherry, with the latest releases fully matured in oloroso sherry.

Nose
Notes of soft peat smoke, leather-bound books and sticky toffee pudding are present on the nose.

Palate
The familiar rich and dirty character of our Kilkerran 8 year old sherry series is clear to taste. We also get thick date syrup, blackcurrants, cherries, redcurrants and a maritime coastal taste.

Finish
As the whisky develops, there are notes of ashy medicinal smoke, ginger and chocolate oranges.

2024 Release

This product is limited to one per person

A departure from our typically lightly peated single malt, our Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.

Nose
In typical Kilkerran style, there is a citrus element on the nose with notes of lemon and key lime pie, along with touches of toasted rye bread and peat smoke.

Palate
There are notes of toasted marshmallows and campfire embers immediately on the palate, with hints of vanilla and custard.

Finish
The smokiness carries through to the finish, along with a mineral note to round off this dram.

Glen Scotia is one of only three distilleries based in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula. 

The whisky has been gently matured in the finest American oak barrels before being married in first fill bourbon before bottling. The signature nose has hints of vanilla oak, interwoven with the subtle notes of sea spray and spicy aromatic fruits.

The oloroso sherry finish adds perfumed floral notes, creating a delicately aromatic dram while preserving the signature distillery character of rich fruits, hints of Atlantic sea spray, and subtle maritime nuances. Glen Scotia?s 21-year-old is an exceptional single malt that delivers the true character of a refined and classic Campbeltown whisky.

The liquid has been matured to bridge the gap between Glen Scotia?s 18-year-old and its 25-year-old, which won the ?Best in Class? and therefore Best in the World, at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021 out of 3,800 entrants.

The remarkable new release comes presented in Glen Scotia?s premium bottle in deep hues of purple and gold. An elegant metal coin of the Glen Scotia entwined ?GS? logo is set into the shoulder of the bottle, which is presented in a display box ideal for collectors or gifting to someone special.

The Campbeltown whiskey region has a very unique flavour profile. The new Glen Scotia 10 Years reflects this skilfully. The unpeated Campbeltown Malt matured 100% in first fill bourbon casks and thus offers the perfect balance between the character of the distillery and the influence of the bourbon barrels. The Glen Scotia 10 years unpeated thus combines all the classic Campbeltown properties: Maritime style, paired with green fruits and citrus notes, plus vanilla and light spice.

Nose: fresh sea air and sliced apple, with aromas of lemon peel and roasted oak.

Taste: soft, almost creamy with notes of melted brown sugar and orange jam - followed by ripe pineapple and creamy vanilla, followed by the spicy oak.

Finish: long with a gentle finish Tones of ground ginger and a slight note of cinnamon.
