Grant Burge’s Filsell vineyard with near century old vines is considered one of the best vineyards in the Barossa Valley and consistently produces fruit of great intensity and concentration. Planted in 1920, this vineyard also produces some of the fruit for Grant Burge Wines, flagship Shiraz, the highly acclaimed Meshach.

Family owned Leeuwin Estate is one of the five founding wineries of the now famous Margaret River district of Western Australia.

 In 1972, legendary Napa Valley winemaker, Robert Mondavi, identified the future site of the Leeuwin vineyard as being ideal for the production of premium wine and provided early mentorship to Denis and Tricia Horgan in the transformation of their cattle farm into Leeuwin Estate. Enjoying its first commercial vintage in 1979, Leeuwin was thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1981 ?Art Series? Chardonnay. 

This is Shiraz is part of the same art series, from Margaret River in Wetern Australia. This is classic Shiraz with an abundance of bursting blackcurrants, boysenberries and mulberries balanced by sweet, toasted spices.

Killerman?s Run Shiraz is comprised of selected parcels of fruit from the Clare Valley. The result is a layered, concentrated red with great depth, spice and red fruit flavours. Subtle smoky and liquorice notes add complexity to the long finish.

Spanish inspired, Australian made Tempranillo from the adventurous Chaffey Bros brand. This dry Aussie red is smooth, soft textured and tastes of ripe fruit flavours of red and dark plums, stewed and dried. It's made from two vineyards in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, one of them with 70+ years of vine age, which comes through in this wine's superb concentration of flavour - older vines are thought to deliver richer flavours. 

The inspiration for La Conquista comes from Spain's most famous red wine, Rioja, which is usually a blend. This is also a blend and uses the same grapes as found in Rioja - namely, Tempranillo with Grenache and Graciano (from the cooler Eden Valley) for support. 

The wine is named after the 1811 Battle of the Barrosa in Cad?z.

The older Barossa Valley vineyards typically yield fruit of concentrated flavour and soft, supple and velvety tannins that set them apart from the younger stuff. The Ebenezer block gives this wine its dark core and its muscle, with the fruit from Williamstown providing elegance, fragrance and spice. There?s plenty of blackberry, black satsuma plum, black cherry and cassis with great intensity and length.

2016, sourced from low yielding gnarly bush vines.  Largely aged between 35 and 80 years. This wine is Barossa Grenache at its best.  Bright red fruits and spice flow on to a rich, yet savory palate delivering a wine of elegance.  Tight structure and tremendous length  The subtle use of French oak enhances the true varietal characters of this classic Barossa Grenache.  

Full bodied and super flavoursome with structure to see it age for decades. Here's a Shiraz for the long haul, which is named in honour of pioneer Clare Valley winemaker Jim Barry. In 1964, Jim purchased 70 acres of prime land from Duncan McRae Wood and planted his first vineyard with Shiraz - a momentous purchase and great decision for the company's legacy. 

Winemaker Corey Ryan may be Australian born and bred but he has a strong Kiwi connection, having been chief winemaker at Villa Maria for about a decade, before returning home to the Barossa to make superlative wines such as this great spicy red. This brand is a collaboration between Ryan and Nicholas Crampton, who collectively aim to make great value wines that over deliver and shine a new light on classic styles. This 100% Shiraz and comes from a blend of two regions, 80% Langhorne Creek, south of Adelaide, and 20% Barossa Valley. It's bright, full bodied, dry and fruity with complexity coming from Shiraz' spicy notes. A fab Aussie red.

Hill & Valley is all about highlighting the ripe and balanced flavours of great wines, such as this full bodied red, from the warmth of the Barossa Valley in South Australia. From the cooler Adelaide Hills to the elevated Eden Valley vineyards to those situated on the Barossa Valley floor, these ancient soils provide the base for great wines that speak of their origins.

"Dense with a bright red edge, there are dark brooding fruit aromas with hints of blueberry and choc-mint. The palate is medium-bodied with blue fruit and fine grained tannins for a very soft finish."

Samuel's Gorge Winery is in McLaren Vale; a wine region south of Adelaide, which is a hot bed of experimentation for classic European grape varieties such as Tempranillo, the great red grape of Spain.

This wine is dry, full bodied and complex with secondary flavour notes of freshly roasted coffee beans, liquorice and ripe, dark fruit notes. It drinks well now and can age for up to 10 years.

Samuel?s Gorge Grenache is an elegant wine, opening with peppery blood orange and cinnamon. Hints of amaro, field strawberries and undergrowth abound before light, delicate tannins flood the mouth with cherry, faint liquorice and soft red fruits, leaving a fresh acid zing and persistent spice-laden finish.

Enjoy with de-boned garfish wrapped in vine leaf and brik pastry with tabbouleh salad.

Age for 10 years plus.

Here?s a deliciously different wine from South Australian brothers Peter and Duncan Lloyd, who were brought up with wine in McLaren Vale, South Australia, which is an experimental hotbed for interesting varieties. Flavours here are all about ripe licorice balanced by soft plummy fruit flavours balanced by firm acidity which adds structure and length to every interestingly quirky sip.

They used five grapes which originate in five different countries to make this interesting new take on Australian red wine. The grapes are Touriga (originally from Portugal), Grenache (French), Negroamaro (Italian), Mourvedre (French/Spanish) and Shiraz (Australia?s stock in trade).

This is an elegant and vibrant Chardonnay from internationally renowned Leeuwin Estate. The Prelude Vineyards wines are made from the most expressive fruit, with the intention that they will drink well soon after release. While being excellent to drink young, they retain great ageing potential. 

The nose is fragrant, with citrus and orchard fruit notes. On the palate, the wine shows ripe stone-fruit and gentle floral notes, with a light touch of vanilla. This is a juicy wine with bright, juicy acidity and a zesty finish. Given time, this wine will build in complexity and texture.

Approachable, easy going and versatile, this wine has a nose of fresh, complex cassis and mint fruit flavours with some well integrated vanillin oak. The palate is full bodied with dense ripe cassis fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak but yet long and smooth. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to be enjoyed now but can benefit from further cellaring.

"Organically grown and made. Vibrant cherry red in colour. Fresh lifted young berries, early season plums, dried herbs and savoury olive characters give a wine of amazing perfume. It?s bold and lush on the palate. Lovely cherry and chocolate characters interact with fine gravelly tannins, salty liquorice flavours and a sweet core of fruit. This leads to a wine of balance with a bright crisp finish. Touriga Nacional as a variety offers good cellaring potential, will be good to see where this goes In a few years.

Fruit was harvested in ideal conditions and fermented in shallow stainless steel open fermenters. The fruit is hand plunged to gently extract the tannin, keep the ferment as even as possible and maintain fruit purity. The wine is pressed off and aged on lees in older 500L French oak puncheons for 10 months. Unfiltered and unfined It goes to bottle."
