Unit price perSpanish inspired, Australian made Tempranillo from the adventurous Chaffey Bros brand. This dry Aussie red is smooth, soft textured and tastes of ripe fruit flavours of red and dark plums, stewed and dried. It's made from two vineyards in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, one of them with 70+ years of vine age, which comes through in this wine's superb concentration of flavour - older vines are thought to deliver richer flavours.
The inspiration for La Conquista comes from Spain's most famous red wine, Rioja, which is usually a blend. This is also a blend and uses the same grapes as found in Rioja - namely, Tempranillo with Grenache and Graciano (from the cooler Eden Valley) for support.
The wine is named after the 1811 Battle of the Barrosa in Cad?z.
The 2017 GCV Celtic Farm Shiraz Cabernet is a really attractive Clare red blend which will repay medium term cellaring.
A degree of elegance - deep red in colour, the wine displays ripe satsuma plum and blackcurrant, a little chocolate and a hint of cedary French oak.
Tasting Notes
Bright red with perfumed aromatics of fresh plums, red fruits with hints of bayleaf and thyme. A long and seductive palate showing why these two varieties marry so well. The Shiraz provides the sweetness and red berry fruits with a plush and velvety mid palate. The Cabernet adding the granular tannin structure and long savoury finish of green olive and bayleaf. Oak plays a supporting role adding texture and spice.

Unit price perThis bold and beautiful McLaren Vale Shiraz puts the region's best foot forward - and the grape's most vibrant, peppery flavours forward too, in the glass. It's named after winery owner Frank Mitolo's three children, Gemma, Alex and Marco and is a deliciouly dark and spicy red with deep earthy notes.
The wine is made from vineyards at the south end of McLaren Vale, which provides ripe but balanced dark flavours of powerful black cherries, black plums and strong notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and spice. Winemaker Ben Glaetzer says he picks grapes on flavour ripeness to make wines with mature tannins and vibrant fruit both being key characteristics of Mitolo wines.
He describes GAM Shiraz as opulent, robust and multi layered; an ideal match for rustic foods.
It comes from the Lopresti vineyard, which is about three kilometres east of the coastal town of Port Willunga.
Winemaker Ben Glaetzer describes this wine as: "Full bodied and dense, the palate provides layers of ripe black fruits that open up endlessly. Firm, ripe tannins amply support the rich and opulent black fruit characters with the earthy background notes contributing further complexity. It is an ample and very classic expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz."

The 2014 GCV Premium Riesling comes from the oldest block of Riesling vines on the vineyard. Our aim is to make something that is more textural than the Celtic Farm, not relying totally on acidity to give length and drive to the wine.
This premium Riesling is nothing short of world class. Unmistakable citrus, salinity and even a slight chalkiness characterise the palate. The acidity is great, but supremely well balanced.

The 2019 GCV Celtic Farm Riesling comes from three different blocks on the vineyard and our intention is to make a wine in the modern Australian Riesling style – crisp, dry and fresh.
Citrus characters of lemon and lime on full display along with some attractive floral notes.
The "entry level" Riesling but one that seriously over-delivers. Purity and flavor are abundant and it makes for sensational value.
