Unit price perThe second batch of Glenglassaugh Octaves Classic features a more sherried profile than the first batch - something you might be familiar with when it comes to Glenglassaugh whiskies. The one was matured in octave casks made with wood from bourbon, Pedro Xim?nez and Amontillado casks, imparting huge helpings of dried fruit and vanilla notes to the single malt.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Earthy vanilla arrives first, but soon enough you'll find notes of dried cranberries and thick treacle.
Palate: Chocolate, salted caramel and hints of red chilli flakes. A backbone of barley helps it along.
Finish: Damson jam and toasted teacakes (with butter).
It's fruity and floral, light yet complex. It's quite lemony on the nose, and rather light. The palate is much bigger and richer than the nose might lead you to expect. Flavours like brulee, lemon curd and pple sauce mingle with a little milk chocolate.Great all-round whisky.

Unit price perNamed after a famous Englishman, Thomas Parr, who lived during the 15th and 16th centuries. His remains now lie in Westminster Abbey. This particular brand, while now owned by Diageo, was founded in 1909! Awarded as the '2007 World Whisky of the Year', it comes bottled with a funky, brown bottle which oozes character and charm. The bottle is not smooth but is intentionally mottled and wrinkled similar to the skin of a very old man, paying tribute to Thomas Parr, who is the oldest man in the history of England, living for more than 150 years. The taste comes with a firm vanilla tinged with oak and spice begins to rise first, with sawgrass, and green willow following. One with patience will also find flavors of honey and caramel underneath the soft smoke as well.

Unit price perThis 2023 release from Ardnamurchan combines peated and unpeated spirit matured in ex-bourbon and ex-rum casks. A lovely balance of peat and sweet tropical flavours - mango, spice and subtle vanilla thanks to the American oak
From the distillery...
Ardnamurchan Rum Cask ramps up our earthy, oily house profile with delicate grassy, funky notes. The underlying tropical richness is delightful. We think the distillery character matches beautifully with these Caribbean casks, the first time we've ever released a vatting matured in this cask type..

Unit price perThe Gauldrons Campbeltown Malt Scotch Whisky tells the story of the eponymous dark, stormy coves on Campbeltown’s west shores, and literally means “Bay of Storms”. A marriage of the finest Campbeltown Malts, bottled in very small batches at 46.2% ABV, and proudly without colouring or chill-filtration. The Gauldrons is one of Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts
This rich bronze malt attains its spicy, treacly flavours from hogsheads made of Spanish Oak (Quercus Robur) sourced from Galicia and Asturias regions, more specifically, the Cantabrian Mountains which have a cooler climate and greater humidity. Before being filled, the wood is air-dried for around 18 months, opening up the oak for the GlenAllachie spirit to extract the cask character.

Commercial description...
"Every batch we create of our 10-year-old Cask Strength represents the direction in which we are taking The GlenAllachie" - Master Distiller, Billy Walker.
Demonstrating the impact of exceptional cask management, the tenth edition of our highly-sought after release embodies this philosophy and stands proudly alongside its award-winning predeccesors.
Each striving to better the last, Batch 10 is a true illustration of the artistry and expertise that creates every drop of our liquid gold. To deliver our classically Sherried profile, Billy hand-selected Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks to be married with spirit maturing in red wine barriques and medium toast/medium char American virgin oak barrels. The result is a well-balanced, yet complex malt with distinctive notes of dark fruits and layers of warming sweet spice.
