he wonderful Tullamore D.E.W. has gone and finished its original blend of pot still, malt and grain Irish whiskeys in first fill Caribbean rum casks which previously held Demerara rum. As well as being a taste sensation, the expression pays tribute to the role that Irish immigrants played in the development of rum in the Caribbean back in the 17th century. Some history for you while you sip.

Nose: Cherry pie, lots of tropical mango and banana alongside buttery caramel, with sweet malt and rum spice.

Palate: Lemon curd, caramelised pineapple and brown sugar, with oak spice and lots of dried fruit.

Finish: Chewy orange sweeties, ripe banana drizzled with runny caramel, with a prickle of aromatic spice appearing on the finish.

Highland Park - The 16 year old Wings of the Eagle is a celebration of Orkney?s wild island climate. Its spicy and elegant character reveals a sophisticated combination of flavours, layered as intricately as the feathers of an eagle?s wing.

Glenfarclas - 100% Oloroso sherry cask maturation.  Gloriously smooth, yet with the depth and finish you would normally expect of a much older dram.

Nose:  Tempting sherry-sweet malty tones combine with delicate aromas, releasing sublte spices.  Warming the glass reveals honey, vanilla and pear drops.

Flavour:  Delicately light, with a mouth-watering combination of maltiness, sherry sweetness.  Hints of dried fruit, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves tempt the taste buds further.

Bowmore No.1 is producing using single malt Scotch whisky drawn exclusively from first-fill bourbon casks, imparting a creamy sweetness which blends well with the robust Islay smoke that Bowmore is known for.

Released in 2009, this is South Africa's first ever single grain whisky, coming from the The James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington SA. Bain's Cape Mountain whisky is matured in first fill bourbon casks for an initial three years before spending a further two years in fresh first fill bourbon casks! It's named after the chap who built the first roads in Wellington SA.
