Inspired by the life of Blackbeard the Pirate this intense blend of Caribbean rums is spiced with chillies, tobacco substitute, and traditional black gunpowder. At 51.6% it is guaranteed to fire up any drink and take no prisoners

NOSE: Fireworks, smoke, caramel, guy fawkes, tea, liquorice, jasmine, burnt hay, paprika, coffee, tomato cup'o'soup, plastic, chilli, tobacco, burnt, gunpowder. 

PALATE: Chilli sauce, rusty tail pipe, ash tray, shoe polish, chocolate, explosive tom thumb. 

FINISH: Initially vanilla, port royal, hicory, dutch liquorice, cordite, the chilli rides the alcohol, longest ever finish. RWS/DMM

This was first produced in Santiago de Cuba over 130 years ago. It is aged using the Solera process, so on average the rums contained herein are 15 years old.

Nose: Caramel & vanilla.

Palate: There's still some piquant heat on the palate coupled to a hint of almond/cherry pit, and the body comes across as ample but balanced.

Finish: A medium finish with Vanilla and a hint of wood.

Plantation Original Dark comprises the elegant rums of Trinidad which are distilled then aged in their tropical climate in the Caribbean in American oak barrels under high heat before traveling to France. Once in Europe, the House cellar master decides on less ?high esters? for the Trinidadian rum and blends in old rums from Jamaica (15 - 20 yrs.) This end result finishes like sweet nectar but also adapts beautifully to classic cocktails made with dark rum such as the Mai Tai or Daiquiri.

Tasting Notes: Notes of rich natural vanilla, brown sugar, dried fruit, warming spices with hints of oak, come together to create a perfectly balanced spirit with a smooth finish.

Flor de Cana was founded in 1890 near the base of San Cristabal Volcano, the highest and one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua. The brand's rums are produced from molasses from estate-grown sugarcane. American white oak barrels formerly used to age bourbon are used to age the rum. The 18 listed on the bottle isn't an age statement, but rather indicates an average of the rums used.

A superb-looking decanter bottle of XO rum from Barbados, aged in bourbon barrels before being shipped to France for a secondary maturation in Cognac casks from the Ferrand house. The result is a well balanced rum with a remarkably long finish, with a palate of chocolate, banana, coconut and mango. Now this is some very good stuff.

Nose: Hints of spicy oak on the nose, with guava, a little desiccated coconut and dried banana. Buttery.

Palate: Spiced, creamy palate entry, with sweet vanilla notes and caramel. Oaky spices.

Finish: Caramel. Toasted oak.

A richly flavoursome rum from the Philippines, inspired by the story of Papa Isio, who played a big part in the late-19th century Philippine revolution. The rum itself is made using sugar cane grown on the island of Negros in the Philippines and matured in oak barrels for 7 years, after which it is blended and bottled.

Nose: Fruity notes up front, with sweet tangerines and apricots. This is followed by vanilla ice-cream, drizzled with runny toffee sauce.

Palate: Bags-full of vanilla and cinnamon. Hints of raisin, sultana and marmalade.

Finish: Medium length with punchy cinnamon.

Clear amber, shiny, clean and transparent with a soft and balanced aroma. Flavours of light ageing, with slight sweetness. Notes of sugarcane combined with woody notes, along with almonds, vanilla, grapes and dried plums.
