Stone Paddock Cabernet Franc is an outstanding red made by Paritua, one of Hawke's Bay's top producers of reds modelled on the best of Bordeaux. This gorgeous ripe Cabernet Franc is full of fragrant red fruity aromas and flavours of redcurrants, raspberries and spice, held together with supple tannins which dance across the mid palate of this wine. 

It's made from grapes planted on free draining red metal soils of the Paritua vineyard, an organically farmed single vineyard in the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District of Hawke?s Bay. Vines here are managed with an open canopy to provide good airflow and exposure to sunlight, which aids ripening for this classic Bordeaux red grape variety. 

The wine was matured in seasoned French oak for 12 months followed by blending, fining and filtering just prior to bottling.

If you have ever wondered why an actor you?ve always admired seems to be perpetually cast in supporting roles and never lands the lead, it will be easy to relate to Cabernet Franc. One could argue that this seductive classic red could lord it over both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is a parent of both of these better known grape varieties, but Franc tends to hang around the edges, adding its personality when needed with colour, depth and spice but rarely vying to be star. And yet, when it is allowed to shine, here is a grape and a wine to adore.

Chard Farm's tasty Riesling is made with grapes grown on the Arena Block in the Viper Vineyard at Parkburn. This vineyard is planted on a steep north  facing slope which enhances grape ripening and produces flavours of ripe lemon and concentrated apple and lime. It's lively and light bodied with great depth of flavour adding a surprise deliciousness to this wine. The 2019 Riesling will reward those with the patience to cellar the wine for up to seven years.

Te Kano is a Central Otago based winery making stylish, high quality wines. Their Pinot Noir is a supple, fruity wine with raspberry, plum and cherry flavours. Subtle savoury herbal notes bring complexity and elegance. This wine is unfined and unfiltered to preserve its finesse and purity.

Rosso by name and Syrah by nature, this wine is made with grapes grown in the heart of the Bridge Pa triangle, an area with iron rich soils in Hawke's Bay. Layers of black spicy stewed plums lead into a full bodied, youthful and delicious complex wine. 

The grapes were hand harvested and fermented in tank and 24 months in French oak barrels. A touch of Pinot Noir (2.5%) from the Osawa vineyard blended. Dark, aromatic wine with poise and power. Captivating dark berry fruit, dark olive and spice with harmonious oak and sheer velvetiness on the palate.

Commercial description

Immediately appealing on the nose showing dark cherry, roasted nut, game, warm mushroom and rich floral aromas. The palate delivers terrific weight and richness, splendidly supported by velvety texture and layers of polished tannins. Graceful and harmonious with an impressive long silky finish.

Grapes in this Chardonnay were all grown at Te Awanga on the Hawke's Bay coast, near to Cape Kidnappers, hence the name. 

This wine was made from 70% hand picked grapes which were 70% whole bunch fermented with the remaining 30% destemmed before fermentation in a combo of French oak and stainless steel tanks. All yeasts were wild and the wine was aged in French oak puncheons, 15% new for eight months. It's a full bodied, dry Chardonnay with intense zingy acidity thanks to the cool climate the grapes were grown in. 

A top quality Chardonnay from Hawke's Bay - offering exceptional value for money at such a modest price. 

Dark, earthy and delicious with a smooth body and structure to burn. This is an impressive Pinot Noir made by the Bourgeois family, who originate in Sancerre in the Loire Valley, France but luckily for us, they wanted to break out of their comfort zone, so they bought a property in Marlborough in 1999 and the rest is history, which is still in the making, thanks to impressive wines such as this mid tier, 100% certified organic Pinot Noir. It’s made entirely from grapes grown on the winery’s site. No grapes are bought in. There is no fining in any of the wines so all are vegan friendly. The Clos Henri winemaking team want the wines to speak about the place so they focus on low intervention.

Juicy and refreshingly succulent pale ruby Pinot Noir, which has body and structure, building on winemaker Jannine Rickards' previous Waikura Rosé and is a lighter bodied red wine with structure and flavour interest but freshness that suits being served as a lightly chilled wine. 

Made from old vine 10/5 Pinot Noir (25% whole bunch with gentle pump overs) and new plantings of Abel clone Pinot Noir, all grown on the Stad_Ko Vineyard; the new name for the old Arapai Vineyard in Martinborough.

Spain's greatest red grape, Tempranillo, is now being grown and pressed into tasty dry reds and ros?s in New Zealand, such as this delicious dry, savoury pink wine from Elephant Hill.

Whole bunch fermented blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris, which spent the first part of their wine journey in amphora with two months of skin contact, which results in the orange hue in this lovely refreshing dry wine. Softly white wine with grip and aromatic appeal, which ticks the vegan box.

The organic story at Seresin

One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.
