Previously part of their travel retail offering, Oban's Little Bay has graduated to the core range. Master Blenders Dr. Matthew Crow and Dr. Craig Wilson use whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends for this expression before allowing the resultant single malt whisky to marry in small oak casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Dried apple chips, floral herbs and chopped mint, candied orange and a touch of milky coffee.

Palate: Those fancy chocolates with the flakes of sea salt, pound cake topped with demerara sugar and cinnamon. Citrus returns on the mid-palate.

Finish: Spiced with cinnamon and ginger.

Distiller's note. 

The Dalmore 15 year old was first launched in 2007. Matured in Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso Sherry casks, it proffers all those winter spice, orange zest and chocolate notes characteristic of Dalmore.

Nose: A chocolate orange. Potpourri, perfumed. Fruitcake, Sherry.

Palate: Medium, lovely delivery. Zesty orange, Cura?ao, chocolate. Winter spice, stem ginger in syrup. Hints of anise and a little hickory.

Finish: Malty barley and smoky espresso.

The oldest of three Royal Brackla single malts launched in 2015. Distillation at Royal Brackla is slow, with plenty of reflux and this whisky is matured in Oloroso Sherry casks. The result is a rich whisky with notes of dark chocolate, anise and sweet summer berries.

The Edradour 10 is bursting with aromas of fresh vanilla pod and a hint of sulphur, creme caramel, and the palate carries bitter almonds, pepperment chocolates and a dry vanilla'd finish. Unlike its bigger production neighbours, Edradour rely on word-of-mouth of whisky connoisseurs - and because of this they have become one of the most-visited distilleries in Scotland.Their whiskies are a great all-rounder - an ideal dram for a newcomer as well as the collecter that has 200 drams in their cabinet.

Tomatin's 14 Year Old has been finished in tawny-port pipes, which adds notes of extra fruitiness, especially red fruits to the classic Highland notes of toffee and honey.

Originally released for the Taiwanese market, Macallan Aera is a no age statement single malt matured in predominantly in sherry-seasoned oak casks. After its maturation, it was bottled up at 40% ABV in this rather striking black bottle.

The Tullibardine 15 Year Old has arrived! The Highland distillery reopened in 2003, and this is one of the most well-aged releases to date. Seeing as it was matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks, there's lots of creamy, honeyed influence to be found in this one.

Nose: Barley sugar and delicate florals, with apple crumble and custard.

Palate: Lots of honeyed malt, with creamy porridge and berry jam along with fresh sponge cake.

Finish: Caramelised nuts, spicy oak and mango curd.

The GlenDronach Forgue Aged 10 Years is a richly sherried Highland single malt, matured in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. A dram which encapsulates the heritage and terroir of Forgue: a cornucopia of brambles, ripe barley and resinous oak, with a long, lingering finish

Balblair capture the intense esters at the start of the spirit generating the core characteristics of apricots, oranges, spices, floral notes and green apples. The heavier oils and lipids at the end of the cut are also captured, giving leathery, nutty and full-bodied characteristics.

The 18 year old is matured initially in American oak ex-bourbon casks, followed by first fill Spanish oak butts, which add depth and charisma. This is a rich autumnal whisky with aromas of rich toffee, baked pears and new leather, leading to a palate of juicy apricots, seasoned oak and vanilla custard. The finish is long and raisiny.

Loch Lomond 14yo single malt has been matured in refill American oak casks in French Oak from the Limousin region for up to twelve months. These lightly toasted casks are made especially for Loch Lomond.

The result is an explosion of flavour with green apple and pear on the nose, sweet toffee and vanilla fudge mixed with grapefruit citrus on the palate leading to an amazing depth of gentle smoke & warming spice on the finish.

A classic expression of Glen Grant's style, this 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch shows pleasant notes of orchard fruit, almond and citrus accompanied by subtle notes of apple pie crust and caramel. The finish lingers with fruit and subtle hints of spice.

Nose: Pronounced orchard fruits and vanilla pod mingled with aromas of citrus peels and toasted nuts. 

Palate: Sweet and creamy with layers of sugared almond and panna cotta followed with notes of dried apple, nutmeg and cocoa powder. 

Finish: Perfectly balanced with creamy rice pudding and gentle cinnamon spices lingering long on the tongue.
