An exceptional whisky matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, aged Tawny Port pipes and casks, exclusive to The Dalmore, which have held 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry.

Following on from Glenmorangie's A Tale of Cake, the magnificent distillery has gone and created A Tale of Winter. Director of whisky creation Dr. Bill Lumsden wanted to evoke the feeling of winter, of sitting in front of a fireplace while the snow fall outside, and to do so, he finished a bourbon barrel-matured single malt in ex-Marsala wine casks. All those rich, comforting, chocolatey notes certainly put this one in the 'winter warmer' category.

Nose: Honeycomb, chocolate digestives, fragrant lavender, sultana, and cinnamon.

Palate: Cocoa, Brazil nuts, vanilla tablet, jammy red berry sweetness developing, crystallised ginger.

Finish: Spicy ginger remains, mellowed by vanilla and chocolate mousse.

This ultra-rare single vintage Dalwhinnie has an astonishing bright intensity for its age and comes uniquely from refill American oak hogsheads, all of which were casked in 1989. Three decades of maturity have bought a fine elegance to the vibrant distillery character, allowing its moorland aromas to peak. The result is smoothly sweet, yet also surprisingly peppery

Another bottling in Glenlivet's Single Cask Edition series - this time it was aged for 18 years in cask #96421 and bottled in January 2016 with an outturn of 660 bottles. This edition has been given the title 'Allargue'. Perhaps named after the nearby Allargue Estate.

Nose: Soft but oak-y barley, with notes of vanilla tablet and cinnamon sticks.

Palate: Nuttier on the palate - think oily walnuts and sugared almonds. Vanilla and cinnamon remain at the fore.

Finish: Lightly floral.

The Glenlivet Single Cask is an exclusive tasting experience. A unique blend bottled at its natural cask strength and without chill filtration that allows it to retain the same purity it had while maturing in the cask. Aged in first fill American Oak Barrels for 16 years, there are only 180 bottles of this limited-edition whisky. Every cask holds a flavour which can never be replicated and every bottle is individually numbered.

Part of the Warriors Series originally launched for the travel retail market, Harald was matured in a mix of American and European oak casks and displays sweeter notes intermingled with spice and oak.

Highland Park 21 Year Old has been matured in a combination of first-fill European oak sherry casks, first-fill American oak sherry casks and a handful of refill casks. The palate offers notes of ripe mango, sun-dried orange peel, sweet pear, fresh ginger, nutmeg, vanilla and aromatic peat smoke.

This lightly peated whisky is made from malted barley infused with smoke during the drying process. The flavour imparted by the smoke is a reflection of Wolfburn?s history ? the original 19th Century distillery was largely fired by peat. The result is a beautifully smooth and rounded whisky.

Non chill-filtered @ 46% ABV.

Part of Signatory's new '100 proof' collection, this bottling of Glentauchers was matured in a selection of first fill Oloroso casks for twelve years. There are notes of sweet yellow fruits, stewed sultanas, floral honey, rich chocolate and sweet oak, burned sugars and honeycomb.

Part of Signatory's new '100 proof' collection, this bottling sees Glenrothes spirit married with a selection of Oloroso Sherry casks. There are resinous notes of pine needles and sap, along with delicate heather honey, vibrant citrus peel, boozy sherried dark fruits, fresh herbs and black forest gateau.

Commercial description

We are delighted to share news of the arrival of our Christmas exclusive bottling of the year, hailing from the Cuthbert family farm and their Daftmill distillery.

Established in 2005, Daftmill is a seasonal distillery, run by brothers Francis and Ian, who produce just 20,000 litres of spirit a year from locally grown barley.

With less than 100 barrels filled at the distillery in 2011, we are honoured to be able to bottle cask 055 exclusively for New Zealand.

There are only 209 bottles available from this cask, and it is available while stocks last on a first-come, first-served basis.

Another heavily sherried whisky from GlenDronach's outstanding lineup. The 21 is quite legendary - sweet toffee apples, vanilla pods, cookies'n'cream ice cream, tinned peaches and porridge drizzled with brown sugar, fruit salad, fruit cake, and gunsmoke. This came first in our Sherried whisky Tasting.

The latest iteration of Benromach's cask strength offering - this one from a small selection of 48 casks and served at its natural cask strength. As the colour suggests - there's plenty of stewed fruit, citrus and Christmas spice flavours that intermingle nicely with just a lick of warming peat.

To craft The GlenAllachie Wine Series, we first expertly matured our spirit in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels. Subsequently, the whisky underwent additional maturation for over two years in wine barriques skillfully sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker, imparting a distinctive twist onto the unpeated GlenAllachie spirit.

These particular French oak barriques were procured from one of just five Premier Cru Classe chateaux located in the world-renowned wine region of Bordeaux, France. Top of the official Bordeaux wine classification, these estates are considered to produce wines of the highest quality and flavour. Maturation in casks which previously held such full-bodied red wine has imbibed our honeyed spirit with deep notes of black cherry and smooth espresso. The resulting golden malt delivers a truly refined yet complex drinking experience.
