The 2018 Gaelic Cemetery Premium Shiraz displays ripe dark cherry and plum fruit aromas with a little mocha and also some meat/gamey notes somewhere in the mix.
The fruit for the 2018 Gaelic Cemetery Premium Shiraz comes from the two oldest blocks of Shiraz on the vineyard. Varying percentages of both blocks make up the Premium depending on the year.
The 2015 Pirathon Shiraz highlights the traditional big flavours of the Barossa in a beautiful mouth filling wine.
Grape lots were selected and aged in new and seasoned oak barrels before carefully blended.
Overall, this Shiraz is of impeccable balance with the fruit, tannin and oak all working in unison together to provide harmony and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Palate
The full-bodied palate is rich and mouthfilling. It is amazingly well structured which adds a defined framework to the ripe dark fruits. There are background oak barrel characters that complement the bright fruit flavours. Solid but fine natural tannins add a pleasing dryness to support the intense fruit. Overall, this Shiraz is of impeccable balance with the fruit, tannin and oak all working in unison together to provide harmony and complexity. A very lengthy finish completes this powerful and solid wine.

Youthful and medium body this wine showcases bright red berry fruits, satsuma plums with complexing oak adding a soft and creamy texture balanced by the fresh cranberry like acidity. The longer growing season of 2017 highlights the spice, freshness and appeal of Clare Valley Shiraz.

The best grape lots were carefully selected from the 2016 intake and combined with 100% French Oak barrels with no compromise on quality.

Palate
Rich and full-bodied. Very generous, powerful. Totally mouth-coating. Bright fruit flavours, licorice. Firm chalky tannins giving longevity as well as nice grip to counter-balance sleek fruits, but importantly polished. Harmonious acid. Very classy, savoury oak, highly integrated. A long lingering finish.

Tasting notes
The appearance is brilliant pale straw with vibrant green hues. Like previous years, aromatics are in the fresh green lime spectrum with subtle perfume notes. The palate is built around structure and elegance, not distinctively fruity but more in the slatey, chalky profile with underlying lime notes. Polished and refined, this wine can be enjoyed in its youth but long term cellaring will reward those with patience.

Vivid red in colour. The nose presents an array of black and blue fruits intermingled with spice and smoked meat notes. Rich and inviting on the palate, this wine is powerful and long, showcasing great concentration yet remaining harmonic and elegant. Complex dark fruits and savoury nuances suggest warm climate Shiraz, while hints of spice and white pepper showcase the cool ripening conditions of 2020 and the high altitude of the Gaelic Cemetery Vineyard. A long and granular tannin profile helps drive the wine effortlessly. This wine will reward long term cellaring.

Flavours linger in the mouth effortlessly, combined with a ripe but fine and long tannin profile bringing all the components together in complete harmony.

With a high altitude of over 400m above sea level, consisting of undulating valleys and hills the region is well known for producing grapes of the highest quality. Enjoyable in its youth but carefully cellared will continue to evolve over the next 10 years.
Tasting Notes
The colour is a youthful pale straw with bright green hues. The aromatics are fruit driven with citrus, lemon pith and mandarin peel characters. The palate is delicate with a lemon flavour profile and a texture reminiscent of meringue. Long and fine, the palate lingers effortlessly. A high quality wine made to drink in its youth or for those that prefer, cellar for another 10 years.

The 2020 GCV White Hut Riesling is a new entrant to the Gaelic Cemetery portfolio, an opportunity to showcase the subregion where our well renowned vineyard is located.
GCV White Hut is named after a small sub region of the Clare Valley located just North of the Clare Township. With a high altitude of over 400m above sea level, consisting of undulating valleys and hills the region is well known for producing grapes of the highest quality. Enjoyable in its youth but carefully cellared will continue to evolve over the next 10 years.
Tasting Notes
The colour is pale straw with vivid green hues. Lifted aromatics showcase a pure expression of lemon pith with subtle notes of jasmine and citrus blossom. Flavour wise the palate has zesty lime juice and lemon grass flavours with a long chalky, mineral like acidity providing freshness, structure and length.
