Unit price perMade from fruit taken from an exceptional Gimblett Gravels vineyard, this Syrah is the antithesis of the big, rich, ripe Syrah?s that are abundantly available. With lovely acidity, refined tannins and superb flavor intensity, the wine was always destined for extended barrel and bottle ageing. Two years in barrel before bottling and then a further year in bottle before release in July 2020, reveals a unique wine that will age for a very long time.
Raspberry, white pepper, cedar, poached pears, plums and hints of fresh coconut make for a highly complex nose. The wine has fine-grained, delicate tannins, with a light mid-palate texture more aligned with Burgundian Pinot Noir than Hawkes Bay Syrah. Fresh acidity that lengthens and balances the palate brings length, freshness and vitality.

Unit price perShadow Puppet is our first West Coast Pilsner, a style that combines the clean malt and yeast profile of a pilsner with the big hopping of a West Coast IPA. We used freshly harvested 2024 Australian Eclipse hops, including a generous dry hop. Giving the beer strong mandarin and citrus notes, with a touch of pine.

Unit price perThis Reserva Tempranillo from Valdepenas is a great example of the quality coming out of Spain at the moment. Ripe and juicy, yet also with hints of oak and complexity. Grapes from their oldest, low-yielding vineyards were combined with those of younger vines to create a blend of rich dark fruit with smooth vanilla and rich cocoa. 12 months in American oak barrels, followed by a further 24 months in the bottle add a silken texture to the blend. Superb with hearty stews and char-grilled steaks as well as a variety of tapas.
"Dark cherry red with a savoury bouquet infused with redcurrant fruit and cake spices, then spicy and savoury to the taste with lifted red berry fruit, a touch of orange zest and peppery spices. There's a nice touch of smokiness coming through, underlying earthy notes and a long dry finish lifted by vanillin oak and mint. Tannins are firm yet the wine is ripe and juicy with a pleasing generosity. Fantastic presentation. 13% alc."

Unit price perWarming, Malty and Fruity. Pale and amber malts contribute to a mouth filling and satisfying 'Horlicks' and biscuity maltiness. Challenger and First Gold give a base note of herbal hop and Fuggle as a late hop contributes the main fragrant fruity and floral and spicy notes. Fermented slowly to give just enough fruity esters Abbot Ale provides a complex, satisfying and warming experience.

Unit price perGorgeous dark spicy Syrah with mana and a long track record from 15 year old vines grown on the Kindy Block on Waiheke Island; part of the original Goldwater Estate Vineyard.
This superb full bodied Syrah is now made by winemaker Kelly Washington, who uses 85% destemmed grapes with 15% whole bunches in the ferment to lift aromatic appeal and enhance softness. Wild yeast fermentation started the winemaking and the juice was then innoculated with a Syrah yeast strain. It's aged for 12 months in a mix of French oak barrels and a puncheon, 21% of the oak is new with the balance being neutral and second fill barrels with a medium toast to allow the fruit to shine rather than the oak.
Fleshy, concentrated black fruit comes to the fore on the palate of this lively wine, which is supported by savoury, spicy notes, firm tannins and bright acidity.
This wine is in conversion to BioGro organic.

Unit price perLaphroaig has fashioned this whisky using malt from a number of different types of cask, including Oloroso Sherry butts, white American oak, Pedro Ximenez seasoned hoggies, Quarter casks and first fill bourbon casks.
This does sport the hallmark medicinal Laphroaig qualities we all love so much but it's not packing a massive peat punch and so is a great entry whisky to the joys of Islay for someone just starting the Islay journey.

Unit price perBeronia Reserva is made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest Tempranillo vines, plus some Graciano y Mazuelo. After a spell undergoing cold pre-fermentation maceration and controlled fermentation with periodic pumping over to extract the desired colour and aromas, the wine spent 18 months in mixed French and American oak barrels to create the unmistakable 'Beronia Style'. Lastly the wine was left to rest in the bottle a further 18 months before being released to the market.
Atractive and intriguing on the nose it displays nutty aromas ? roasted almonds, walnuts ? followed by notes of plum primarily but also ripe fruit and a pleasant hint of white pepper, which all add complexity and freshness. Full bodied the palate, the wine displays balanced acidity. The flavours are mostly of ripe fruit, whilst the finish is sweet and smooth, bringing to mind cacao and roasted hazelnuts.
