In 1999, eight North Island brown kiwi were discovered in ?hope Scenic Reserve, representing the last of their local population. The Whakat?ne Kiwi Project was created to restore local kiwi numbers. Since then, the kiwi population in the Whakat?ne area has grown to over 350! Whakat?ne is now known as the Kiwi Capital of the World?.

A crushable pale ale created as a special collaboration between the Whakat?ne Kiwi Trust, esteemed local artist Sam Poots, and Mata Beer.

4.7% alc/vol.

To support local conservation efforts, Mata is donating 8% of their proceeds from this can to the Whakatane Kiwi Trust.

We endeavour to dispatch orders the next business day, couriers can take 1 to 2 business days to deliver to non-rural addresses and 2 to 3 days to deliver to rural addresses.  

Exceptions during December:

In December, please allow 3 business days for delivery. The last day for Christmas orders is Sunday 15th December for all South Island and all rural deliveries, and Tuesday 17th December for North Island non-rural deliveries. After these dates Regional Wines cannot guarantee delivery before 25th December.

Unfortunately Regional Wines cannot take responsibility for the breakage of delivered glassware items.
