Clape Cornas Renaissance is crafted from the Clape estate's younger vines, offering a more approachable and vibrant expression of the appellation. These vines are, nonetheless, over 30 year old, primarily in the Les Sabarotte and Geynale lieux-dits providing heady full bodied Syrah with aromas and flavours of boysenberry, star anise and cola - silky polished tannins and keen acidity. Traditional winemaking approaches, including whole-cluster fermentation, and maturation in old oak foudres enhances the wine's aromatic intensity and structure of the wine offering a fresh, yet profound, interpretation of the esteemed Cornas terroir.

This 500ml bottle of honeyed sweet Riesling deliciousness captures the beauty of sweet Riesling at its best. Flavours run from concentrated lemon curd to honeyed lime juice with sweet peach aromas and all supported by the beautiful balance of high acidity, which gives Riesling its trademark freshness. 

Serve lightly chilled. This wine begs for a lemon tart.

It is a stunningly concentrated, complex sweet wine for drinking now and can age for the long haul too. This wine is a keeper.

Incredible Spanish wine with great structure; amazing power and mid palate weight from 92% Tempranillo, 6% Graciano, 2% Garnacha. Bodegas Roda is completely new to New Zealand this year, 2023, and is also a fabulously modern expression of traditional Spanish grape varieties which express themselves in bold red fruit flavours with the support structure of firm smooth tannins, spicy complex aromas and depth. We have three of the wines in store, all brand new to this country and to Regional Wines.

The grapes are grown on bush vines older than 30 years, mostly in Haro and its surroundings. The yields are low, which produces wines with rich concentration of flavour. The fermentation is in French oak vats equipped with temperature control, followed by a malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels for 14 months. A further ageing of 22 months in bottle enabled the wine to mature before release. 

Fabulous vintage (one of the best ever) in Martinborough for Pinot Noir and this is the flagship wine of the Wairarapa Wine Region and one of the best. Earthy, dark plums and cherries sit in a wine with lifted earthy aromas on the finish. A special wine for now and for the cellar. 

Drinks beautifully now and can age for up to a decade. 

Spain's great offering to the world of sparkling wine is called Cava and it is made in the same way as champagne and this exceptional bubbly spends the same amount of time ageing in the bottle on yeast lees as most champagne. That long ageing process is 15 months and it results in a wine with fresh baked bread and yeasty aromas, which are tempered by citrusy freshness and depth of flavour from the complex combination of both. This makes it stunningly good value for money. 

The producer is Gonzales Byass, the largest sherry producer and owners of the great classic, Tio Pepe Fino. 

This bubbly comes from grapes grown on a vineyard planted in 1991 in Espiells, the highest, windiest area of the municipality of Sant Sadurn? d?Anoia. 250 metres above sea level. Bordered to the south by the Coastal Serralda and to the north by the Montserrat mountains, the vineyard benefits from an exceptional microclimate. The soil is alluvial and comprises three layers;; of clay and silt, pebbles and loose stones and fine sand that compacts down and is called ?saul??. Together, they produce a cava with very warm climate characters which are balanced by a touch of saltiness. The Parellada vineyard is located at 700 metres above sea level in the municipality of La Llacuna, considered to be one of the highest in Pened?s.

This is our pick of the super tasty bunch of beautifully fragrant, structured, lingeringly flavoursome Corafin Pinot Noirs and is from the Settlement Vineyard, which is situated in the Southern Valleys in Marlborough. It is an outstandingly concentrated, full bodied style of Pinot, proof that this country's biggest wine region is far from a one trick pony - and is also certified organic. 

Purity of ripe grapefruit, lemon and limes all intermingle in this bold and beautifully balanced expression of Riesling from Craighall Vineyard in Martinborough. This is one of the best Rieslings in the country and will absolutely improve with ageing for up to a decade, potentially longer in a cool dark cellar.
