Belgian Beer

Unfiltered Vicaris Generaal is a red-brown warm-fermented beer with a beautiful tinted head, unfiltered in both bottle and keg. Generaal will mature in the bottle and is for the experienced beer lover. Generaal has a marked bitterness obtained by using roasted malt and hops. It is not a sweet beer.

8.5% ABV

Nose/aromas: Sweet malt, hints of tropical fruit (banana) and citrus fruits (oranges), suggestions of hops, light minerality.

Flavour: Playful in the mouth, pleasant bubbles, lovely malty attack followed by a fruity and slightly bitter touch, again a hint of minerality, nice dry finish

6.5% ABV

Gentse Strop is a top-fermented blond Belgian Special Ale, re-fermented in the bottle (6.9% alc vol), to give a deliciously hoppy beer with a subtle fruity aroma.

Kasteel Xtra is a blond top-fermented beer with a low alcohol content.

For this Kasteelbier, their brewer blends extra tasty malts with a generous dose of bitter and aromatic hops. Thanks to the dry hopping and the secondary fermentation in the bottle, you will enjoy an extra fine aftertaste.

4.5% ABV

Clear golden-yellow, fizzy with bubbly white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and ripe fruits (peach, banana). Sweet flavour, very alcoholic with notes of caramel and candy, ripe fruits, yeasts, light citrusy bitterness. Brigand is blond coloured and has quite a full and creamy head. This glorious craft beer has a beautiful body and a wonderful aroma.

9% ABV

Like the standard Gulden Draak, this beer offers extremely rich and complex favours with touches of sweet caramel - pushed further thanks to extra malt additions and a higher ABV.

10% ABV

Presents malty, very fruity and woody flavors somewhat reminiscent of red wine, with a slightly acidic and sour finish, with excellent drinkability

5.5% ABV

This golden ale has a dense white head that invites you to lean in and discover the fragrance of green aromatic hops, yeast and mild fruity notes. A full and refreshing palate shifts to mild citrus, orange and grapefruit, in combination with the hops. The sweet honeyed finish combines a slightly spicy flavor of cumin, ending with a nice kick of hops

7.5% ABV

Fresh, sweet and fruity banana flavour with a hint of beer in the aftertaste.

3.6% ABV

The beer has a mild, slightly bitter, ?hoppy? flavour and is easy and refreshing to drink. The beer is brewed using only high-grade, certified-organic barley malt, rice and hops. The rice used also has Fairtrade certification. Gluten-free (less than 10ppm).

Commercial description.

Our brewmaster, Jef Versele, crafted this exclusive Gulden Draak Brewmasters Edition as a tribute to his grandfather Jozef Van Steenberge and the 230th birthday of the brewery. His inspiration came from his numerous trips to the United States and his deepest respect for the craft beer culture. This exclusive Gulden Draak combines the technology and the craftsmanship of the traditional brewing process. By letting the beer mature on whiskey barrels it gives it a distinctive and gentle finish that you have never tasted before.

Pours deep dark red colour, with a light pink, compact and lacing head. Soft fruity aroma, with hints of almond and mildly sour cherries on the nose. The palate is sweet and fruity, with a nice balance between sweet and sour. An excellent dessert beer.
