With predominantly local hops and slightly above-average alcohol content, our Red IPA has the same confidence and individuality that characterise our own former colony. Tantalising passionfruit aromas give way to a delightful and unexpected combination of berries, tart ruby grapefruit and a comforting toasty malt on the palate, rounded off with a satisfying, sustained finish.

A trailblazer when first released in 2009, Hopwired was one of the world's first IPAs to be brewed exclusively with New Zealand hops. Today it's as unique as ever, delivering an enticing punchbowl of tropical fruit, citrus and gooseberry flavours balanced by mouth-filling caramel malt sweetness.

Cassels Red IPA is full bodied, rich and vibrant. Our speciality malts add serious complexity with flavours and aromas including dark fruit, raisin, toast and light caramel, balanced by assertive, crisp hop bitterness and perplexing pine, citrus, lime, stone fruit, floral and tropical characters.

6.6% ABV

The 2023 vintage of our Flanders Red Baby Grand is a blend of a 2 year old puncheon and a 3 year old barrique. It's bursting with barrel fruit, lean malt weight and an edge of balsamic.

You’ll recognise the same great flavours of O’Hara’s Irish Red with trademark hints of sweet caramel and mild nutty biscuit, all amplified with a smooth creamy mouth feel and a nice warming finish.
Dark ruby red in colour and pours with a dense smooth creamy head. The addition of a pinch of roast barley during the brewing process lends a distinctive bite which is balanced by a crisp medium bitterness. The caramalt flavours follow all the way to the end.

Mirroring the West Coast of the good ole U.S. of A. this fresh little number is bound to delight. With a strong fresh citrus and sweet tropical fruits dance in your mouth and combine with caramel and toffee to wrap it all together.Tasting notes: Toasted caramel, USA hops, bold, & warming.

BARREL AGED DOUBLE DANGER RED ALE

Red Ale 7.9% 330ml

We have taken our favourite lady and made her, well more luscious!  

Allow yourself to be seduced by the luxurious malt body, rich complexity and bright hoppiness hidden in this alluring red ale. We have taken a barrel of Lady Danger that we had been ageing for over 12 months and added this to our blend which has resulted in a potent perfume of ripe fruit wrestling in pine needles enchanting the senses.  An abundance of US hops and balanced malt fullness round out the punchy flavours. This beer is perilously good and dangerously palatable, drinker beware.

Red ale with exceptional notes of bread, caramel, and biscuit. Well balanced with a light bitterness on the finish. Joaquin Dead walks the line.

5.1% ABV

A big background hum of roasted malt complexity and a warm lingering bitterness. Smooth and full bodied with notes of rich raisin, caramel and boozy cherries. Pine, deep and resinous resound with a lingering pop of honey. Notes of spiced toffee and a sherry kiss, all reminiscent of dense, decadent fruit cake and dark crust magic. Made for this frostbitten weather in front of the fire, toes tucked into a pair of woolly socks.

8.2% ABV

Taking its name from our fave local jumping off point into the briny blue, Jump Rock Unfiltered IPA starts with one of our signature unfiltered IPA bases before we load it with heaps of Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops. All gooseberry, citrus and fresh pine needle up front, those flavours are mirrored on the palate alongside a hint of toffee and soft malts.

NEW BREW | When the waves won’t play, we ride the dunes instead. This unfiltered IPA starts smooth with Aussie Ella’s noble hop charm, then drops into a full-throttle dry-hop of Vic Secret’s dank tropics and Ekuanot’s citrus/pine intensity. Hazy, bold, and packed with flavour—it’s the liquid equivalent of shredding Te Paki on your old board.

Created by the dirtbags at the local mountain bike club this beer is ideal post a two wheeled adventure. These singletrack minded individuals decided what they wanted brewed which was a beer big enough for some serious flavour, small enough to have a couple, crisp enough for some thirst control and hoppy enough for even the smallest nose. Delivering on the above is a clean and mildly malty red ale hopped up with classic US varieties for orange, pine and dried fig aromas and a solid bitterness.

ABV: 6.1%
